SMSF estate planning under the new reforms

From 1 July 2017, there were significant changes to contributions, the transfer balance cap and other issues that could have affected your self managed super fund. As a result, there are hidden estate planning issues that have arisen due to these changes, specifically upon the death of a member.

Franco Morelli, the SMSF Association's Policy Advisor will detail what you need to do with your fund to ensure it is supporting your retirement goals. During the webinar, Franco will ask the following:

  • Have you reviewed and, if necessary, updated your binding death benefit nominations and Wills?
  • Are you required to update your fund's Trust Deed as a result of these legislative changes?
  • Have you contacted your financial advisor, if you use one, to determine the tax implications of your strategies?

Duration: 40 minutes
